Dorothy Mae Christian, age 80, passed away April 9, 2011. Dorothy was born in New London on May 19, 1930, to the late Adeline (Butler) and Harold Andrews. She graduated from Washington High School in New London in 1948. On May 27, 1950, she was united in marriage to the late Dale Christian. Dorothy had many hobbies including, painting, gardening, pickling and canning. She was president of Oak Grove Homemakers and had many friends. She is survived by her son, Tom (Lynn) Christian, daughter, Susan (James) Travis, daughter, Jill (Michael) Levorson, and son, Ted (Karrie) Christian. Dorothy had nine grandchildren: Tom, Jr. (Jana), Tina (Mike) Bonack, Jaime (Tedd) Poluan, Dustin, Dominique, Brian, Saicu, Sam and Kate. She is further survived by seven great-grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Klinger and Gladys Christian. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, her mother and father and an infant son. Funeral services for Dorothy were held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London, Rev. William Heiges officiated. Interment was at the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation was at the church Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
She has let go of our hands, and has taken the hand of her husband, and the hand of her Savior Jesus, she will be in our hearts forever.
