Dorothy A. Sorensen, of Waupaca, age 73, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at her home. She was born in Waupaca on April 9, 1937 to the late Dr. Arthur and Ardyce (Devereaux) Chandler. On September 24, 1975 she married Gene Sorensen. Dorothy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts and was an advanced knitter, making beautiful sweaters. She also enjoyed camping and outdoor activities.
She will be sadly missed by her husband: Gene; sons: Stephen (Denise) Schlafer of Milwaukee and Michael (Sarah) Schlafer of Neenah; step children: Deborah Sorensen and Stephen Sorensen both of Waupaca; sister: Mary Louise Mendleski of Appleton; 6 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A private graveside service will be held. Memorials are appreciated to the Waupaca Humane Society.
