Flater, Mary Lou

Mary Lou “Louie” Flater, age 77, of Manawa, passed away at her residence, on Monday, April 11, 2011. She was born on February 16, 1934, in Waupaca County, daughter of the late Edwin and Bernice (Tarr) Cartwright. On October 22, 1955, she married Roger W. Flater in Manawa. He preceded her in death in 1985. Louie worked at Sturm Foods and the Blood Mobile in Manawa for a number of years. She enjoyed baking, sewing and crafts, playing cards and having coffee with all her friends. Louie loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa. She is survived by her daughters: Sara (Dan) Baumann, and Kari Flater, both of Wausau; granddaughter McKenna Baumann; siblings: Clarence (Betty) Cartwright, Menasha; Melvin (Donna) Cartwright, Hortonville; Samuel (Betty) Cartwright, West Bloomfield; Anita Paris, Menasha. She is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Her parents and husband, two brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law preceded her in death. The funeral service for Louie was held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manawa, Pastor Tom Theama officiated . Burial was held at Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. Visitation was held at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Friday, April 15, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
