Hirte graduates Top of Class

ICFN Daniel Hirte has completed Apprentice Technical Training at the Center for Surface Combat Systems, Great Lakes, IL. Hirte graduated at the top of his class earning the designation of distinguished military graduate of Interior Communication “A” School also at Great Lakes, IL. Hirte is currently assigned to the USS George Washington in Yokosuka-shi, Kanagawa, Japan. The USS George Washington is an American nuclear-powered supercarrier. The George Washington is 1,092 ft long, 257 ft wide and 244 feet high. The super carrier can accommodate approximately 80 aircraft and has a flight deck 4.5 acres in size, using four elevators that are 3,880 ft² each to move planes between the flight deck and the hangar bay. With a combat load, GW displaces almost 97,000 long tons and can accommodate 6,250 crewmembers.
