Ruth J. Baldwin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, May 3, 2011, at
the Iola Living Assistance Facility, with her youngest son at her side. Ruth was born on December 7, 1927, in Bear Creek, daughter of the late Louie and Anna Young. She was united in marriage to Allen Baldwin, on September 19, 1946; he preceded her in death, on February 17, 2006. Ruth lived the majority of her life working beside her beloved husband on their dairy farm in Symco; raising their six children, loving their sixteen grandchildren and treasuring their seven great-grandchildren. Ruth’s hobbies included: gardening and painting wooden lawn ornaments, which her husband created. She was a very kind, thoughtful person, touching the lives of everyone she met. Ruth was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa. The Funeral Mass for Ruth was held on Monday, May 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa, the Fr. Brian Belongia officiated. Burial was held in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Sunday, from 3-7 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
