Knight, Evelyn Mae

Evelyn Mae Knight, 88, of Littleton, CO, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Porter Hospice in Centennial, CO. Evelyn was born on a Wisconsin farm, near the town of Sheridan, on March 31, 1923, a daughter of the late William and Augusta (Hanson) Madson. Evelyn married Edgar Thomas Knight on June 26, 1946. During Edgar’s Air Force career, they lived all over the U.S. and abroad, with Evelyn managing the move of family 28 times, before finally settling in Colorado. She graduated with honors from a Michigan beauty school and received her license. Later, she worked at Sears catalog department in Littleton, CO., for 10 years. She loved to sew and made many quilts over the years for family members. She was very active in the Quilting Circle at several churches for many years. She loved her children and grandchildren very much!

Survivors include; her Husband, of 64 years, Edgar Thomas; son, Edgar Reginald and his wife, Terry; son, Robin and his wife, Galinda, and son Robert; brother, Julian Madson, sister, Verna Schiek, and sister, Donna Peterson. She is survived by 5 grandchilden, which she adored. Funeral services were held at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 7531 S. Kendall Blvd., Littleton, at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Reception followed at the church. Interment was held at, Fort Logan National Cemetary: Section C. Visitation was held on Tuesday at Olinger Chapel Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd., Littleton, CO.
