Erickson, Adler N.

Alder N. Erickson, 78, of Waupaca, formerly of Iola, died Friday, May 20th, 2011 at Crystal River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Alder was born in Town of Harrison, Wisconsin on July 18, 1932, the son of the late Alvin and Nora (Johnson) Erickson. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War from April 17, 1951 to April 17,1954. During his service to his country, Alder was wounded and receive the purple heart. He was a member of DAV Post 54- Waupaca. He had worked as a farm hand for many farms in the area. Alder enjoyed reading and playing checkers. He is survived by Sister: Mildred Vaughn, Iola. Alder is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Julian and Milo Satre. Memorial Service was held 1:30 PM, Tuesady, May 24, 2011 at the Voie Funeral Home in Iola, with Reverend Dan Somers officiating. Friends called from NOON until the time of service. Interment will be in the Central WI. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Town of Farmington, Wisconsin at a later date. Memorials may be given to Northland Lutheran Church in Alder’s name.
