Fenske, Gordon

Gordon Harold Fenske, age 88, of Weyauwega, died on Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Renaissance Assisted Living Facility in Appleton. He was born on December 14, 1922, in the Town of Royalton, son of the late Alvin and Olga (Hass) Fenske. On June 5, 1948, he married Doris Redman in West Bloomfield. She preceded him in death in 1991. Gordon was a member of the Weyauwega-Fremont Lions Club, the Weyauwega Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, the Manawa Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, and the White Tail Chapter of Waupaca County. He was one of the organizers of the White Lake Aeration Conservation Club. He worked for Weyauwega Union Co-op for 37 years. Following his retirement, he drove school bus for four years, for Weyauwega -Fremont school district. Gordy was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he was an active member in the Senior Citizens dart ball team and also a captain for the St. Peters Lutheran Church dart ball team. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon (Gary) Dretzke; two grandchildren: Eric Dretzke and Nicole (Aaron)Herbst; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Geneva (Leroy) Koehler, Joyce Christensen; also a niece, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Norman (Peggy) and his mother-in-law, Rose Redman. The Christian Funeral for Gordy was held on Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 11:00am, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega, the Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Robbin Robbert officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends called directly at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Building on The Rock Fund at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Renaissance Assisted Living Facility and Asera Hospice Care for everything they did for Gordon.
