Strong, Keith J.

Keith J. Strong, age 59, New London, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, following an 8-year battle with cancer. Keith was born on December 25, 1951, in Milwaukee. Keith graduated from UW Stout class of 1975. He worked as a teacher in Kaukauna, at a lawn care business, owned a feed store in Appleton and also ran a very successful Snap-On tool distributorship in the Waupaca County area. Keith loved the outdoors, horseback trail riding, and traveling with his horses and dog. He also enjoyed hunting, skiing, playing cards (cribbage and sheepshead) and was a car enthusiast. Keith is survived by his children, Keeley (special friend, Matt Sommers), New London , and Zach, Seattle, WA; Paula Strong (former wife, mother of his children), Davie, FL; his father, Gerald Strong, Pewaukee. Brothers, Duane (Darlene) Strong, Pewaukee; John (Sue) Strong, Lake Havasu City, AZ; Greg Strong, Pewaukee and a sister, Victorine (Jerome) Bobb, Pewaukee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Germaine Strong. Funeral services for Keith were held on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London the Fr. David Lewis officiated. Friends called at the church, Saturday from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for the Kidney Cancer Association.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the medical staff and Hospice staff that have cared for Keith through his journey.
