Volunteers needed to build Waupaca Riverside garden

The City of Waupaca and Riverside Medical Center are seeking volunteers to help build the new “Riverside Reflection Garden” overlooking the Crystal River.

Landscape architect Jim Beard and his students from Fox Valley Technical College’s horticulture department will lead the park construction, planned for Saturday, June 11, at 800 Riverside Drive, Waupaca. Work will begin at 7:30 a.m., rain or shine, and continue until finished.

“Each FVTC student will be responsible for a section of the park and will teach the volunteers what to do,” said Beard. “This will be a great experience for people who will remember the day they created a beautiful garden for their community.”

The project is also seeking donations to help with the purchase of plants and materials to complete the garden.

For more information or to make a donation, call John Edlebeck at (715) 258-4420, or Tim Stolpa at (715) 258-1075.
