Mildred A. “Millie” Pantton, age 98, of Green Bay formally of Waupaca passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay. Millie was born in Chicago, IL March 13, 1913, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Cable) Edwards. On June 19, 1935 Millie married Eero (Earl) Pantton in Berwyn, IL and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1992. Millie was the Ex. Director of the American Red Cross in Neenah for 33 years. She also helped her husband in Pantton’s Town & Country Shop selling women’s clothing and accessories. She was a life member of the Eastern Star in Neenah, past member and President of the Altrusa International Club in Neenah and was a member of the Theta Sigma Phi Sorority. Both organizations were formed to “help people”. Millie is survived by her daughter: Virginia (Terry) Pliner, Green Bay; her grandchildren: Todd (Mary) Pliner, Green Bay; Shelley (Chris) Schumacher, Cedarburg and Lynne (JB) Van Hollen, Waunakee; her great grandchildren: Brian, Joseph & Erika Pliner; Jordan & Joshua Schumacher and Byron & Madelyn VanHollen and her niece: Shirley Karbowsky. Millie was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister Adeline and an infant brother. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, June 7 at 10:30 AM at Woodside Lutheran Home Chapel in Green Bay with Reverend Steve Apfel, officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca. Visitation was on Tuesday morning from 9 AM until the time of services at the Woodside Chapel. The Pantton family wishes to thank Woodside Lutheran Home for their compassion and care given to Millie, especially Nurses LuAnn and Alexandria and the Unity Hospice Nurse Sharon. Donations appreciated to the American Red Cross or Unity Hospice. Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca is assisting the Family with arrangements.
