Kempf, Arlyn E. W.

Arlyn E. W. Kempf, Of Waupaca, age 84, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center. He was born in West Bloomfield, WI on June 25, 1926, the son of the late Erich and Hattie (Behm) Kempf. On May 4, 1952, he was united in marriage to Gay Marquardt, and she preceded him in death on April 17, 2011. Arlyn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked many years as a cheese maker and butter maker for both Wagner’s Cheese Factory and Star Dairy. He also worked at Outboard Marine for 10 years. Arlyn had a passion for music, playing a variety of instruments including the clarinet, mouth organ and banjo. He also played the drums with Karen and the Polka Gents for 30 years. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and camping.

He is survived by children: Sandra (Scott) Bremmer of Florida and Reginald “Reggie” Kempf of Waupaca; grandchildren: Matt (Jasara) Peskie of New York, Eric Peskie of Wausau, and Allen Kempf of Waupaca; great-granddaughter, Addison Rose; a sister, Ardella (Edgar) Luebck of Waupaca, as well as other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his wife, Gay; son, Rick; sisters, Hildegard Robbert and Elaine Preuss; and brothers, Marvin and Arden Kempf. A Memorial Service was held at 4 PM Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, with Rev. Dr. Charles L. Tews officiating. Visitation was from 3 PM until the time of the service. Burial of cremains will be in the Lind Center Cemetery.
