Lutsey, Evelyn M.

Evelyn M. Lutsey, of Fremont, died on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her home. She was born March 30, 1919 in Neshkoro, WI., the daughter of Reynold and Anna (Zuehlke) Hardel. She married Ervin Pleshek in 1968. He died on July 29th, 1984. In September 1986 she wed Keith A. Lutsey. Keith passed away December 21st, 1991. Evelyn cared for them both in their final days. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fremont, WI, and served on the Finance Committee for many years. She graduated from Wautoma High School in 1936 and then from the Waushara County Normal School. She taught elementary school at Castor’s Corners and Warren Center in the Redgranite area. Evelyn worked at Peck’s Plantation in Wautoma for 20 years, and then for Mid-Wisconsin Homes in Real Estate sales until retirement. Her interest included family, hunting, fishing, painting, cooking, baking and gardening. Much of her time and energy was devoted to being a care-giver to family members. She is survived by a daughter, Karen Foster of Madison, WI, and a son, Kim Maynard of Eugene, Oregon, and two step-daughters: Mary (Harold) Thompson and Karla (Charles) Jensen. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Three brothers: Edward, Arnold and Hubert Hardel, and a sister, Esther Cass, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 107 Tustin Rd., Fremont, on Wednesday, June 29th at 11:00 AM.

The Pastor Stephen Pope officiated. Burial was at the Wautoma Union Cemetery. Visitation was at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
