Dieck, Jean L.

Jean L. Dieck, age 88 years, of Clintonville passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Angelus Retirement Community, Clintonville.
The former Jean Lucille Rohan was born on January 25, 1923 in the Town of Lebanon, Waupaca County, to Patrick and Madge (Sackett) Rohan. She graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1940 and then went on to complete Cosmetology School in Appleton. On January 25, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold G. “Happy” Dieck at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. After marriage, while Happy was still serving in W.W.II she lived and worked in California. In 1946 the couple returned to Clintonville and she started “Jean’s Beauty Salon”, first located on Main Street and then moved to 18th Street. Jean retired at the age of 80 in 2003. Her husband Happy preceded her in death on December 21, 2002. She is a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek, and a current member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, where she had been an active member of the PCCW for many years. Jean was also a member of the American Legion Post #63 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed attending card parties at the Clintonville Senior Center.
Survivors include six children; Terry (Patty) of Milton, Patty (Dale) Villeneuve of Saukville, Dan (Lesa) of Madison, David (Mary) of Marshall, Dennis (Evie) of Marinette, WI., and Mary Jo Thurk of Bear Creek. There is a daughter-in-law, Penny Dieck of Menomonee Falls. There are 18 grandchildren; Pam (Pasi) Kaskinen, Doug (Trisha) Dieck, Paul (Julie) Dieck, Brenda Dieck, Brad (Shannon) Dieck, Jim (Becky) Villeneuve, Mike (Jenni) Villeneuve, Ryan (Lyndsey) Dieck, Ben (Jamie) Dieck, Angela (Brad) Bahr, Tim (Helene) Dieck, Bill (Leanette) Dieck, Maggie (Steve) Zoerb, Emilie (fiance Patrick) Dieck, Brian Dieck, Molly Dieck, Katie Thurk, and Joe Thurk. There are 30 great grandchildren, one sister, Rena Mae (Arnold) Heiman of Marshfield, one brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Rohan of Bear Creek. She is further survived by three sisters-in-law, Jane Rohan of Bear Creek, Irene Brady of Tigerton & Pearl Dieck of Marion, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Happy, a son, James, a sister, Evelyn Lowney, and five brothers, Orville, Merlin, Patrick, Norbert & Roger Rohan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 6th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Fr. Don Everts will officiate and burial will follow at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
