O’Neill, John H.

John H. O’Neill, Age 75, of the Town of Belmont, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Bay Head, NJ on May 11, 1936, the son of Howard and Alice (Hurley) O’Neill. He was united in marriage to Cyndi Brey. John graduated from Rutgers University, with a degree in Banking. He was fortunate to have 2 careers. He worked in the financial industry while living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. But his true passion was flying. John shared his enthusiasm with others as a flight instructor for over 40 years. While attending the EAA he met and ultimately married his wife Cyndi. They eventually retired to Wisconsin where they formed Pinewyck Farm. John received an honorable discharge from the Air Force. He was also a member of the EAA Chapter 444. He is survived by his wife, Cyndi; sons: Dr. John H. (Jody) O’Neill, Jr. of Middletown, DE and James C. O’Neill (fiancee Cindy Ciliberto) of Glen Mills, PA; grandchildren: Jonathan (Alexandra), Ian, Trevor, Sara, Patrick, Katie, Janine and Jacqueline; great-granddaughter, Chloe; sister, Betty (Tom) Applegate of Bay Head, NJ; mother-in-law, Elaine Brey of Wild Rose; brother-in-law, Thomas Brey of Suamico; and sister-in-law, Julie (Cyril) Schaefer of Mount Calvary. John was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Tom O’Neill. A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 12 pm at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca, with Rev. Arden Adamson officiating. Burial and military honors will follow at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. It was John’s wish to have memorials designated to the American Cancer Society and Ministry Hospice.
