Bette L. Wege, age 73, Manawa, died on Monday, July 18, 2011, following a short illness. Bette was born on June 26, 1938, daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Hauser) Sheppard. On August 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to Donald Wege. Bette was formerly employed at Prahl’s Bowling Alley, Hamilton Canning Company and Flanagan’s Kraut Factory. She was an active member of the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Bear Creek. Bette is survived by her husband Don; a daughter, Heather, New London; brothers, Don Sheppard, Milwaukee and Frank (Teresa), Oregon City, Oregon; brother and sisters in-law, Merlin (Betty) Wege, New London and Geraldine Fieblkorn, Appleton. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mary Moss and Shirley (Marshall) Gorges and a brother, Chuck Sheppard.
Funeral services for Bette were held on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Bear Creek with Rev. Matt Ruesch officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday, July 22, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London and also at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
