A Hollywood Homecoming

Clintonville High School will host “A Hollywood Homecoming!” Oct. 3-7. Each day the week will have a dress up theme.

Monday, Oct. 3 will be “Black and White Film Day.” Students can either wear vintage clothing or simply wear only black and white. The Clintonville High School music department is still debating the concept of having some of the high school’s music talent providing a Hollywood soundtrack at lunch on this day.

The evening activities for Monday include “Under the Lights, Camera, Action” Powder Puff Football, where this year the tradition of only upper classman has been broken, and now each grade level will recruit a team of flag football playing females.

Tuesday, Oct. 4 is “Movie/TV Character Day.” Students can choose to dress up as any TV or movie personality they would like.

Tuesday’s evening activity is “Quiet on the Set, Bump, Spike” where the guys will be playing volleyball, also featuring all four grades.

Wednesday Oct. 5 is a “Red Carpet Day.” Students are encouraged to glam up and walk the red carpet. A red carpet and velvet ropes will be up as students enter the school in the morning, with plenty of yearbook paparazzi flashbulbs as students walk into school and again as they enter lunch. There will be a photo booth at lunch. Wednesday is also an early release day.

Wednesday has no scheduled evening event so students will be encouraged to work on their floats, for those who are participating.

Thursday, Oct. 6 is “Now in TechniColor.” Hollywood themed t-shirts will be sold. The class colors for Freshmen are yellow, Sophomores are orange, Juniors are green, Seniors are light blue, and Staff is gray.

Thursday evening’s activity will not be a bonfire. Due to circumstances beyond our control we regret that there will no longer be a traditional bonfire.

Finally, Friday, Oct. 7 will be “Trucker Day.” Wearing the school colors, black and orange, is a sign of pride for our school.

Friday’s daytime event is the Homecoming Parade following the pep rally. There will be floats, convertibles carrying the Homecoming court members, and a band, all leading up to Friday evening’s football game against Xavier.

Saturday, Oct. 8 will wrap up the Homecoming festivities with the much anticipated Homecoming dance at the high school commons from 7:30-11:30 p.m. A canned food donation will earn you a dollar off admission, making the price for entrance only $6 per person, and $10 per couple.
