George G. Cemke, Waupaca, age 85, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011 at his residence. He was born on April 25, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Julius and Frances (Dombeck) Cemke. He married Dorothy Kupsik on June 12, 1948 in Milwaukee. George is survived by his wife; Dorothy, three children; Anita (Dale) Frew of Muskego, Gregory (Kristen) Cemke of Wausau, and Laura (Dale) Schmidt of Sussex, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Karen Marie, his parents, and two brothers. George had owned and operated George’s Floor Service in Milwaukee for many years, retiring to Waupaca. He was a very active member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca. George was a very good woodworker and had built many pieces of furniture for his family, his home, and his church. He also enjoyed working in his yard and enjoying the outdoors. Many will remember that George was always willing to share a story or a good joke. A funeral mass was held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 am, with Father Brian Belongia and Father James Vennix, Concelebrants. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to Theda Care at Home Hospice in memory of George G. Cemke. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
