Paschke, Rolland “Rollie”

Rolland “Rollie” Paschke went to his eternal home on October 4, 2011 at the age of 91. He had been a resident at Park Vista in Waupaca the past year. Rollie was born on July 27, 1920 in the Town of Weyauwega to Hugo and Minnie (Ziemer) Paschke. He was united in marriage to June Schultz on March 25, 1944 at St. Peters Lutheran Church where he remained a faithful lifelong member. He farmed the family farm for many years before going to work at Paine Lumber Co. in Oshkosh, where he retired in 1985. He was an avid sports fan, playing hardball for the Weyauwega Braves in to his 30’s and golfing until arthritis made it impossible. He loved watching the Badgers, Brewers and Packers. His church played a very important part in his life from singing in the choir to serving on various boards. Rollie is survived by one daughter: Priscilla (Eugene) Bartel; one son Robin (Leea) Paschke; five grandchildren: Steve (Debi) Bartel, Scott (Stacy) Bartel, Stacey (Larry) Glick, Chad Paschke, Angie Gettinger, step granddaughter Amy Case; great grandchildren: Miranda (John) Bestul, Lakkin (Justin) Zielke, Dexter and Dakota Gettinger; step-great-grandchildren: Becca, Jake and Rachel Zuleger and Chase Case; three great-great- grandchildren; a sister Viona Voeks, a sister-in-law Mabel Paschke. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters Ruth Knox and Esther Prahl, a brother Harold Paschke and a granddaughter-in-law Mary Bartel. A memorial service for Rollie was held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Robbin Robbert officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends called directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations may be made to St. Peters Building on The Rock Fund and also for the choir.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Park Vista for making Rollie’s final month’s happy ones.
