Tigerton/Marion runs to 46-24 victory over Crandon

Adam Mielke ran for 195 yards to lead the Tigerton/Marion Thundercatz over the Crandon Cardinals Friday, Oct. 21, in a Division 5 Level 1 playoff football game in Clintonville.

Mielke scored on runs of 29 and 23 yards in the first quarter.

Justin Miller added a pair of 4-yard TD runs in the first half, while Tyler Marquardt scored on a 1-yard quarterback keeper and Brandon Sivertson added a 16-yard run to give the Thundercatz a 39-8 lead at the break.

Clay Detert scored from 4 yards out for Tigerton/Marion’s final TD.

“It was a nice playoff win with everyone contributing to the victory. Our offensive line played great helping us gain 482 total yards,” said Coach Mark Fredy. “Defensively we gave up 232 yards and only 90 in the first half. We are excited about the win, but we know we need to get back to work and prepare for the Brillon Lions. Brillon is a good program with very quick and athletic players.”

The top-seeded Thundercats (8-2) will face defending Division 5 state champion Brillion (9-1) at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, in Clintonville.
