McGlin, Joan M.

Joan M. McGlin, age 73 of Clintonville, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Clintonville. Joan was born on February 26, 1938 in Green Bay, the daughter of the late Arthur and Angeline (Beno) Vande Ven. She was raised in Yakama, WA and at the age of 18 married Chuck Fletcher in Yakama. She later moved to Wisconsin and married Everett G. McGlin on October 12, 1968 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. The couple lived in the Township of Bear Creek until they moved to Clintonville. Mr. McGlin preceded his wife in death on February 22, 1985. Joan had worked at Wisconsin Contract Sewing in Shawano for over 18 years. Her hobbies included making crafts reading and word search puzzles. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County where she had belonged to the ladies aid. Joan was very proud of earning her GED certificate on April 6, 1987. Survivors include: Her daughter: Ann McGlin, Clintonville; Her step-daughter: Susan Thulien, Waupaca; Her step-sons: Everett R. McGlin; William McGlin, Clintonville; Richard McGlin, Mena, AR; Maurice McGlin, Clintonville; Daniel “Crazy Red” McGlin, Navarino; Step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; Her sister: Janice Reeck, Clintonville; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Everett G. McGlin, and her brother, John Vande Ven. Memorial services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Township of Bear Creek with the Rev. Matthew D. Ruesch officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Township of Bear Creek. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of the service.
