The Waupaca High School instrumental music department will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the high school Performing Arts Center.
Under the direction of Mark Kryshak and Kira Morrissey, the program will feature both the concert band and wind ensemble performing marches, overtures and selections by well known band composers.
The concert band will open with “Go Galop,” a 1903 composition by Henry Fillmore ‘ under the name “Will Huff.” The group will also perform “Where the Black Hawk Soars” by Robert W. Smith,.
The wind ensemble will open with highlights from “Hello Dolly,” this year’s WHS musical. The pit orchestra from the musical will be recognized during the evening performance. The remainder of the program will be comprised of a collection of Irish street ballades, a French country dance and close with “By Loch and Mountain” also by Robert W. Smith.
The concert is free and open to the public.
