Young, Dorothy L. “Dotsy”

Dorothy Young age 71 of Appleton, went to heaven on Saturday morning, November 12, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born January 31, 1940 in New London to the late Helen (Besaw) and Adrian Quaintance. She graduated from New London High School in 1958. On May 9, 1959 she was united in marriage to Ruben Young at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. They started their life together in New London where she worked at The Toy Factory in Hortonville for several years. They then moved their family to a farm north of Shiocton where she taught religion class and was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Dorothy worked seasonal jobs while also helping her husband on the farm. Dorothy currently lived at Courtyard Apartments where she enjoys cards, bingo, Wii games and many other activities. She was extremely happy and really enjoyed her life there spending time with friends where she will be sadly missed by Ruth. She is survived by four daughters and their families: Theresa (Scott) Hawley, Black Creek, and their children: Samantha (Scott) Holz, New London; Cassandra (Shaun) Brill, Pulaski; Nicholas Hawley at home. Cheryl (Tim) Weyenberg, Seymour: their children Travis Hollingsworth, Neenah; Danielle Hollingsworth at home. Katherine (Mike) Welcing, Seymour; their daughters Holly Vanlandghen and Mikayla Welcing. Rebecca Quaintance, Texas, and her children: Michael Quaintance, Brandon (Sara) Quaintance both Gresham, Amanda (Ben) Ochoa, Bridget Quaintance both Texas; Great-Grandchildren Ben Jr. and Analia Ochoa. Her sisters and brothers: Elizabeth (Ronald) Spruce, L’Anse, MI; William Quaintance; Lois (Jerry) Boelter, New London; Ruth Wolf, Appleton; Patrick (Barbara) Keesler, Gillett, also many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends. She is also survived by The Love of Her Life Ruben Young, with whom she spent 29 years together and remained good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard Quaintance, a sister Helen (Midgey) Massey, Father-in-law George Young, brother-in-law John Young and son-in-law Norman Quaintance Jr. The funeral Mass for Dorothy was held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Friends called at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
