Premo receives award from state athletic directors

Weyauwega-Fremont athletic director Jeff Fahser recently presented a Wisconsin Athletic Director’s Association award to Gary Premo for his service to the Weyauwega-Fremont School District as an a athletic trainer.

“The Weyauwega-Fremont School District is very fortunate to have Gary Premo assisting our coaching staff and student-athletes on a daily basis,” Fahser said. “Gary is at nearly every home event and is at our school three days a week to help injured and rehabilitating student-athletes. He was instrumental in beginning Baseline Concussion Testing at Weyauwega-Fremont with help from the women’s auxiliary at no charge to the district. This service helps students who may be apt of getting a concussion from sports they participate in. This is a proactive service that Gary brought to our district to make the athletic experience more meaningful for the student-athletes and their coaches.”

Premo also provides the same services at Waupaca High School.

“Gary has given of his time to address parents in the district at our fall athletic code meetings and to our coaches through his knowledge at practices, at games and special meetings,” Fahser said. “Gary was also instrumental in helping the school get funds for his anonymous injury survey through a company in Ohio.”

The Wisconsin Athletic Director’s Association honored Premo for his countless hours of service to the Weyauwega-Fremont School District over the years and his commitment to excellence in athletics.

“The next time you see Gary at a cross country meet, basketball game, wrestling match or baseball game, be sure to thank him for his countless hours of serving our district,” Fahser said.
