Wauapca citizens who want to run for mayor or for a Common Council seat can take out nomination papers at City Hall.
Thursday, Dec. 1 is the first day to take out the papers and collect signatures.
Mayoral candidates must get between 50 and 100 signatures on their papers, while candidates for Common Council must get between 20 and 40 signatures.
Nomination papers must be filed by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Up for re-election in the next spring’s election are Mayor Brian Smith, Dave Shambeau in the 1st Aldermanic District, Eric Olson in the 2nd Aldermanic District, Paul Mayou in the 3rd Aldermanic District, Deb Fenske in the 4th Aldermanic District and Jim Boyer in the 5th Aldermanic District.
Incumbents not seeking re-election must file a notification of non-candidacy by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27.
