Ernest M. Strom, of Waupaca, age 92, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2011 at Riverside Medical Center, with friends by his side. Ernie was a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He had been Postmaster in Ogdensburg. Ernie was a long time resident at Park Vista and had many close friends there. In June of this year he moved to Bethany Home. He was a loving, caring, thoughtful person, with an infectious smile. He will be remembered visiting many people in their rooms at Park Vista and Bethany, wheeling around in his chair bumping into walls as he went. He was preceded in death by his wife and children and is survived by grandchildren, a great grandchild, other relatives and many friends. The Memorial Mass was held on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Father Paul Vanden Hogen officiating. The visitation was on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial with Military Honors will be in Park Cemetery in Ogdensburg. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family.
