James A. Michaels, 68, rural Berlin, was killed in a crash shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 10 east of Waupaca.
According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department, a semi was making a turn from Vaughan Road onto westbound U.S. 10 and had to cross over the eastbound lanes. Michaels was eastbound in a pickup truck when he collided with the semi.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, Brian Boomer, 23, of Waterloo, Iowa, was not injured.
An Oct. 12 crash, involving injury to four people, occurred at the same intersecion under similar conditions of dense fog, poor visibility and a semi pulling across the eastbound lanes on U.S. 10.
