In the County Post we read Waupaca city makes a mistake in the tax bills; Administrator Henry Veleker quickly admits and corrects it. This is how government is supposed to work.
The other side of the coin is the administration in Washington, D.C. We’ve all heard that our government allowed thousands of guns to “walk” across the border to Mexican gangs, resulting in murders of a border agent and others; a tragic blunder.
When U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder was confronted about this, his first words were “The Justice Department has over 115,000 employees.” He couldn’t be expected to know what they were all up to. I have two simple solutions for this; replace Eric Holder with someone competent and reduce the D.O.J. to a more manageable size.
Eric holder has been a disaster, as has the entire Obama administration. Holder’s D.O.J. has still been unable to bring Al Queda leaders to trial or close Guantanamo in three years. Holder’s policy has been to prosecute voter intimidation cases only if victims are members of minorities. If victims are white, charges are dropped, according to D.O.J. employees.
Eric Holder’s D.O.J. allows drug smugglers to go free, and instead puts Border Patrol Agent Jesus Diaz behind bars for two years because Diaz purportedly lifted a smuggler’s handcuffed hands up behind his back to control him. The suspect’s only injuries were marks from the shoulder straps of his marijuana-laden backpack. D.O.J. has also demanded Diaz’s wife pay a $7,000 fine imposed on Diaz. This administration is incompetent and dishonest and turns justice on its head too often.
