Loberg, Leona I.

Leona I. Loberg, age 78 of Amherst Junction, Town of New Hope, passed away peacefully at her home on December 31st, 2011. Leona was born January 3, 1933 in the township of Franzen, Marathon County to the late John and Johanna (Ostrowski) Wroblewski. She was united in marriage November 5th, 1951 to Norman Loberg at St. Adalberts church, Rosholt. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2004. Leona enjoyed making patchwork quilts, making homemade soup, doing word finds, Polka Music, gardening, putting together jigsaw puzzles and family get togethers. She had various jobs during her life. First and foremost a wife and mother. She worked at Stratton’s Nursing Home, Upthagroves grocery store and Kachur’s restaurant all of Nelsonville, Meadow Inn Restaurant of Amherst, DelMonte Foods, Plover, maintenance at Rosholt School and she did home health care for many years. She was baptized and confirmed at St Adalberts church, Rosholt. She was a member of Nelsonville Lutheran Church. Leona is survived by three daughters: Bonnie (John) Jastromski, St. Point; Carol (Bill) Patoka, Amherst; Sandy (Bruce) Wolberg, Iola and son Willie (Luann) Loberg of Amherst Jct; 3 sisters: Gladys (Larry) Kluck, St. Point; Agnes (Leroy) Milanowski, Custer; Alice (Hank) Wierzba, Rosholt, one brother, Norb (Judy) Koziczkowski, Rosholt; 10 grandchildren: Lori (Andy) O’Brien, Eric (Michelle) Jastromski, Jamie (Mary) Jastromski, Ryan (Kathy Mead) Jastromski, Jodi (Joe) Patoka, Nicky (Chad) Wherritt, Mandy (Sean) Finlaw, Jenna (Lyle) Borgen, Julie (Fiance Nick Kobus) Loberg and Johnny Loberg. And “Bousha” to 16 great grandchildren: Hannah, Dawson, Owen, Luke, Breleigh O’Brien, Samantha and Aidan Jastromski, Sydney and Payton Jastromski, Riley, Brady and Carlee Patoka, Mylah and Nolan Finlaw, Wyatt Borgen and Bently Kobus. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Helga Onan of Amherst, Effie Henke of St Point, Irene Loberg of Menomonee Falls and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents, stepfather Ambrose Koziczkowski, a son John, a daughter Rhonda, one brother Eugene Wroblewski, 4 sisters: Rosanne, Delores, Rita Wroblewski and Mary Jane Pezewski. Visitation will be held at Voie’s Funeral Home, Iola on Friday, January 6th from 5 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Nelsonville Lutheran Church on January 7th at 11 AM with visitation from 10 AM until time of funeral. Internment to follow at North New Hope Cemetery. The Doctors and the staff at Iola and Riverside Clinics. You helped in making it possible for Mom to live her last months at home on the farm, as was her wish. God saw you were getting tired and you were ready to be with him and the family and friends that went before you.
