Mielke, Mark S.

Mark S. Mielke, age 63, New London, died on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center, unexpectedly following complications of surgery. Mark was born on July 3, 1948, in New London. He graduated from New London High School in 1966. On October 9, 1987, he was united in marriage to Marlene Weisner in Milwaukee. He formerly worked at Prange’s in Appleton; a pipeline out west, as a journeymen carpenter, and at Nordberg Mining Company in Milwaukee and Bucyrus Mining Company. Mark was a passionate fisherman and loved to volunteer at Ruby’s Pantry in Readfield. In his younger years he was very active in Boy Scouts. Mark is survived by his wife, Marlene; parents, Kathleen and Bill Mielke, New London; a son, Ben (Dani) Weisner, Mosinee; two brothers, Jay (Dawn) Mielke, Neenah, and David (Stacey) Mielke, Greenville; two sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Schmidt, New London, and Mary (Manuel) Salerno, Anspach, Germany and Panama City, Panama; and one granddaughter, Makayla. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his biological father, Dwight Stevens, his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Irene Roman; paternal grandparents, Elsie and Ernest Mielke and Kenneth and Lucille Stevens. Funeral Mass for Mark was held on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating.
