Cheerleaders headed to state

Waupaca High School’s varsity cheerleaders are headed to state after placing third in Division 2 Saturday, Feb. 18, at the WACPC Northern Regional cheer competition at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids.

The squad competed in the small squad varsity cheer category. The state competition will be held Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison and the squad is scheduled to perform at 11:24 a.m.

Team members include Lauren Johnson, Taylor Schroeder, Kendra Wiegert, Brayden Kendziora, Miriah Rosin, Paige Roy, Kayla Thiele, Emily Schaffer, Nichole Rich and Erin Manteufel. New London also advanced in Division 2 and will perform at 11:12 a.m.
