One of his first jobs off the farm was with the Waupaca Brick Yard hauling bricks. As World War II developed, he served with the US Army in the countries of France and Germany, mostly working at a P.O.W. Hospital. After the war he worked at Shambeau’s International Harvester dealership. On July 9, 1949 he married Erma Rasmussen, daughter of Hans and Clara Rasmussen of Waupaca. Because he walked all of the city routes over the years, he gained many friends and acquaintances, and was known as “Corky” by everyone. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waupaca and served as a trustee for many years. He was on the building committee that was responsible for the planning of the new church complex that was built on the southeast side of the city in 1970. Even in his retirement years he loved to help cook at the Harvest Dinner put on by the church each fall. He never outgrew his love of the farm, and he lived on a small hobby farm all of his married life, raising cows, chickens, bees, and other livestock. After nearly 93 years his physical body finally wore out. Today he is with his Lord and Savior in Heaven, enjoying his new body. Carlton is survived by his wife, Erma, sons: Michael (Carol) Jensen, Malcolm (Lisa) Jensen, and Mark Jensen, all of Waupaca, a daughter, Jean (Dan) Springborn of Soldier’s Grove, WI, grandchildren: Regina (Tom) Dake of Waupaca, Deanna (Glen) Poehlman of Waupaca, Paul Jensen of Waupaca, Kathryn Jensen of Pensacola, FL, Bethany Jensen of Waupaca, Hans Jensen of Waupaca, Melanie (Mike) Hirte of Waupaca, Carlie (Josh) Pawlosky of Appleton, and Lorie (Brandon) Schmitz of Neenah, great grandchildren: Chloe and Carah Dake, Levi Poehlman, Brogan and Erik Hirte.
