Kenneth A. Swortz, of Waupaca, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his home, with his family by his side, in the arms of his wife. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 21, 1952 to Ernest and Lillian (Cesarano) Swortz. On January 23, 1976 he married Cheri Mech. Ken graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in Chicago. He had worked at Simons in New London for close to 30 years. Ken loved to fish and play cards. He bowled on leagues for many years at Don’s Bowl and Central Lanes, where he bowled his 300 game. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Cheri; children: Michael John (Brenda) Swortz of Appleton; Alissa Swortz of Waupaca; grandchildren: Trenton, Kayla, Ronni, Keneesha (Eric) Acord; great granddaughter, Ella; father, Ernest Swortz of Chicago Heights, IL; brother, Michael Joseph Swortz of Chicago Heights, IL; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Madalyn and Emil Mech of Wisconsin Rapids; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason and his mother, Lillian. The Funeral Service was held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 6 p.m. at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. The visitation was on Thursday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.
