Love of Art Affair set for March 9

The third annual Love of Art Affair will be held Friday, March 9, at the Waupaca Ale House.

The event, which will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., is a fundraiser for the Waupaca High School Visual Arts Scholarship.

Last spring, two students – Sara Babino and Abigail Schmick – each received a $1,000 scholarship from monies raised at the Love of Art Affair.

This year’s event will include a silent art auction of original artwork, created by high school students and by professional artists.

Schmick and Monica Moore, who is also a past scholarship recipient, are both donating items.

The other art donors include Sue Martin, Michael O’Connell, Yolanda Piekarczyk, Chris Groth, Katie Shorey. Jan Mahoney, Pat Reckery, Bob Danielson, Doris Weed, Fred Forseth, Lee Schultz. Michael Patrick, Mary Beisner, Julie Eiden, Rafael Tsenane, Scott Krueger, Sally Christie, Sue Austin, Jacob Oftedahl, Mary Gordon, Sharon Radley and Dort DeWild.

WHS students – past and present – who are donating art include Robin Peeters, Kali Looker, Tate Walkush, Chelcie Robbert and Megan Gooch.

The patrons of the event are Tom and Eloise Godfrey, Dr. Pattie Kile, Neuville Motors, Hansen TV & Appliance, Waupaca Ale House, AJ Holly & Sons, Hayes & Byers, Pat and Roman Jungers and First National Bank.

There will be appetizers, a cash bar and a mix of celtic and bluegrass music by The Rakes of Mallow.

Freewill donations will be accepted at the door.

Those donations, as well as the proceeds from the sale of the art, will fund a visual arts scholarship for a WHS student who is going to study art.
