Christopher G. Nielsen, Waupaca, Wisconsin, age 39, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 10, 2012. He was born August 22, 1972 in Highland Park, IL; son of Gary and Sharon Nielsen. Chris was employed at Chase Bank in Waupaca as a financial consultant and branch manager for the last 8 years. He was active in many sports including fishing, hunting, softball and bowling. Chris started playing hockey at the age of 5 and continued through high school and college where he was captain of the Marquette Hockey team in Milwaukee, WI. He will best be remembered for his kindness, terrific sense of humor, compassion, and his love for his dogs. Chris will be missed terribly by his parents, Gary and Sharon Nielsen; his sister, Gail Nielsen; his brother, Greg Nielsen; a nephew, Ryan Nielsen; and his special loving girlfriend, Christine Abbott. He is also survived by many good friends and relatives.
A Memorial Visitation will be on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 11:00 – 3:00 PM at Faith Community Church, N2541 County Road K, # 715-258-8857, in Waupaca, WI followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at Faith Community Church. Pastor Gary Strike will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Christopher Nielsen. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
