Lendved, Gerda I.

Gerda I. Lendved, 97, Wittenberg, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Homme Home of Witten-berg. She was born on July 3, 1914 in Wittenberg the daughter of the late Nels and Ida (Anderson) Jacobson. On June 15, 1942 she was united in marriage to Everett Lendved in Fort Dix, NJ. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1978. Gerda was an elementary school teacher and taught at Wittenberg and Clintonville Schools. Everett and Gerda owned and operated the former Lendved Hardware Store in Wittenberg for around 20 years. Gerda enjoyed traveling, especially going on her yearly trips with her sisters. She also was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed knitting, reading and spending time with her grandson, Josh. Gerda is survived by one son, Roger (Ann) Lendved, Bayfield, CO; one daughter, Kristine Lendved, Cable, WI; one grandson, Josh (Lisa) Lendved, Orlando, FL; two sisters, Nelida (Omer) Dockstader, Arlington Heights, IL and Joyce Selness, Golden Valley, MN, and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Jacobson, Elderon, and Lila Lendved, Pulaski. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents and husband, Gerda was preceded in death by four brothers: Carl, Orlando, Ismar and Walter and one sister, Lydia Westphal. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg Chapel. Rev. Karen Zutz-Rendall will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5pm until 7pm at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Witten-berg. A Graveside Service will be held at 10am on Friday at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville.
