New London Library Sponsors Food Drive

National Library Week, April 8-14, is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our libraries and librarians and to promote library use. Every day across the country, libraries open their doors to everyone; children, students, parents, and seniors.
The New London Library invites you to come in and see what we have to offer. We have books, information, magazines, movies, and music for everyone. We also have many computers for public use and Wi-Fi is available. The library is the best bargain in town. Almost all services are free.
To celebrate this week, the New London Library will offer its patrons an opportunity to clear fines during a food drive Monday, April 9 through Sunday, April 15. Staff will accept nonperishable food items in place of cash to pay for overdue fines. For each item donated, the library will waive $1.00 from patrons’ accounts. All donations will be given to the New London Food Pantry. Donated food applies only to fines, not lost or damaged material.
More information is available at the library at 406 S Pearl St., 982-8519, or online at www.newlondonlibrary.org.
