Thunderbirds shut out Manawa

Dylan Olson pitched a one-hitter as the Iola-Scandinavia baseball team picked up a 10-0 Central Wisconsin 8 Conference win Monday, April 16, over Manawa.

The Thunderbirds also dropped recent conference games to Stevens Point Pacelli and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

I-S 10, Manawa 0

A five-run second inning helped give the T-Birds all the offense they needed against the Wolves.

I-S also scored once in the first, three times in the fourth and once in the fifth.

Tanner Krueger and Nick Wavruk each had two of the T-Birds’ seven hits, while Brady Huettner added a two-run double.

Pacelli 13, I-S 2

Adam Kluck had two hits and picked up the win on the mound Thursday, April 12, to lead the Cardinals over the T-Birds.

Zach Gauerke had two of the T-Birds’ four hits.

W-B 15, I-S 11

Hunter Grunewald had four hits and drove in three runs, but the T-Birds still came up short against the Chargers Tuesday, April 10.

W-B scored four times in the second and sixth innings, while the T-Birds scored three runs in the first, sixth and seventh.

Spencer Erickson had three hits for I-S.

The T-Birds will host Amherst today (Thursday, April 19) before heading to Shiocton Monday, April 23, to take on the Chiefs. First pitch for both games is set for 4:30 p.m.
