New London’s CREW (Character Rocks Everyones World) Drama Troupe group received recognition at the Fox Cities Youth Alliance Service Awards Ceremony.
This is the second year that instructor Gretchen Sasse has worked with the CREW, which has 23 students from 5th through 8th grade who participate.
CREW members perform at all four elementary schools in the New London School District and at the Intermediate school. Performances are based on situations that the students can relate to and practice positive character.
CREW also does audience interactive impromptu type activities. The students are invested in the program and personally display the positive character that they perform.
“We could only take five students to represent our group at the award luncheon,” explained Sasse.
