Comet bats come to life in 13-1 win

Three four-run innings added up to a win for the Waupaca baseball team.

The Comets came up with four runs in the second, third and fourth innings Monday, May 14, in a 13-1 Eastern Valley Conference win at home over Berlin.

The Indians came up with a run in the top of the first inning, but Waupaca tied the game in the first and went on to outhit Berlin 15-2.

Aaron Gooch, Beau Ash, Alex Hoffman, Seth Deuman, Jared Erickson and Kevin Moe each had two hits for Waupaca.

Deuman also picked up the win on the mound.

Waupaca will head to Berlin Friday, May 18, for a 4:45 p.m. rematch with the Indians. The Comets will also play at Ripon Monday, May 21, host the Tigers the following day and close out the regular season Thursday, May 24, with a rescheduled nonconference home game against Hortonville.
