Kathleen A. (Hintz) Lesniak, of Waupaca, age 59, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012 at her home. She was born in Stevens Point on July 30, 1952 to Gregory “Bud” and Lorraine (Pliska) Hintz. Kathy attended St. Stanislaus Elementary and graduated from P.J. Jacobs in 1970. She married Edward Lesniak on October 16, 1971. Kathy went on to work at Myron Soik and Sons, Worth Company, Iola IGA, Worzalla Publishing, and Donaldsons for 12 years. Kathy sang in the choir at St. Mary Mt. Carmel and St. James. She was an auxiliary member of the Riverside Hospital in Waupaca. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca for the last seven years, where she enjoyed working with the Gardening Angels, as well as helping to make baked goods. Kathy enjoyed gardening, baking, crafting, bird-watching and visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her husband Edward; son, Josh (Amy); grandchildren, Carter and Elyse; brothers: Paul (Laurie), Mike (Jackie), sister-in-law, Donna, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry. The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, with Father Brian Belongia officiating. The visitation was on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Gardening Angels of St. Mary Magdalene. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
