Wesley, Donald R.

Donald R. Wesley, 89, of King, WI., died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Stordock Hall, in King. Donald was born in Town of Helvetia, Wisconsin on June 26, 1922, the son of the late Palmer and Luella (Hanson) Wesley. He married Ilean Thompson, she preceded him in death in 1988. Don then married Dolores Press, she preceded him in death in 2001. Donald was in the U.S. Army during WW II , having served with a tank battalion in Germany. He had worked as sheet metal journeyman at Ladish Company in Milwaukee for over 35 years. He was very active in the church and enjoyed bible study. He is survived by: sons, Kenneth Wesley, Iola and Donald (Sandy) Wesley, Jr., Cudahy; daughter, Faye (Dennis) Schmidt, West Allis. Donald was further survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Darlene Wesley; two brothers, Julian and David Wesley and one sister, Joyce Thompson. Memorial Services were held at Scandinavia Lutheran Church, Scandinavia, Wisconsin, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 26th, 2012 with Reverend Mark E. Sabin officiating. Friends called on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the church. Interment is in the Park Cemetery, Town of St. Lawrence.
