Britz, John M.

John M. Britz, age 79 of the Town of Stockton passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau after a brief diagnosis with Acute Myleoid Leukemia. A Mass of Christian Burial for John was held at 10:30 AM on Friday June 8, 2012 at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish in Custer. Rev. Robert Konkol officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Visitation was from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. A general rosary was prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral chapel. Visitation was also held on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 – 10:15 AM. John was born February 17, 1933 in the Town of Stockton, the son of Adolph and Loretta (Kruzitski) Britz. He married Ann Herman on July 14, 1956 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish in Fancher. The couple settled in Stockton and raised their family. John was a noted milkman for over 40 years. He started delivering cans of milk with Bordens, and retired in 1997 after selling his own business. He enjoyed camping, fishing, his hobby farm, casinos, and listening to polka music. John was an avid Packer Football fan, but the love of his life was his family. He is survived by his wife Ann, and their six children: Brian (Karen) Britz, Stevens Point; Brad (Bette) Britz, Stevens Point; John P. “Jack” (Lori) Britz, Rosholt; Mary (Anthony) Mocadlo, Amherst; Julie (Kenny) Wierzba, Rosholt; Amy Britz, Plover. Nine grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kristin, Rachel, Nathan, Brooke, and Brett Britz. McKenna, Thomas John (T.J.), and Alex Wierzba. He was preceded in death by his parents.
