Mullarkey, Aloysius

Aloysius “Loy” Mullarkey, age 92 years, of the Town of Bear Creek passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Brewster Village in Appleton. Aloysius Joseph Mullarkey was born December 15, 1919 on the home farm in the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, to the late John and Elizabeth (Casey) Mullarkey. After attending Bear Creek High School he went on to study at UW Stevens Point. On June 25, 1949 Loy was united in marriage to Rosemary E. Daley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marion. The couple settled on the Mullarkey Family Farm in the Town of Bear Creek where they farmed for many years. Loy was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek, and he was active in the Knights of Columbus. Besides volunteering at numerous church events, Loy also served on the board of directors with the Clintonville Federal Savings & Loan. His other memberships included the Bear Creek Lions Club, Clintonville Curling Club, and the Cedar Springs Golf Course. His wife preceded him in death on August 12, 2006. Loy enjoyed playing cards, traveling, watching UW Green Bay basketball, and was a longtime Packer season ticket holder. Survivors include three children: Elizabeth (Rob) Mullarkey-Bryson of San Diego, CA; Margaret (Gary) Nerby of Clintonville, and William (Susan) Mullarkey of Kaukauna. There are three grandchildren, Molly (Matthew) Moulis of Wauwatosa, Christopher Wildenberg of Kaukauna, and Craig Wildenberg of Kaukauna. There are two great grandchildren, Elijah and Ana Moulis, many other relatives and friends. Loy is preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, an infant sister, Elizabeth, four brothers, John, Dan, Roy and Clifford Mullarkey, and four sisters: Mary Scribner, Regina Herald, Eleanore Conrad, and Dorothy Leyrer. The family wishes to especially thank the nurses and staff at Brewster Village for their loving care provided to Loy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 15th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bear Creek. His nephew, Fr. John “Jack” Mullarkey, will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
