Sixteen of central Wisconsin’s youths hit the Iola Old Car Show tennis courts recently to learn about the lifelong sport of tennis.
Everyone walked away with some new tennis skills, as well as a boost of confidence.
In the younger group, the King of the Court tournament was an outrageous success. Although everyone earned a medal, the two going home with the gold were Grace Harbridge and Sawyer Hebblewhite.
The older group’s champs were Taylor Beske and Ashley Fenn hauling in the gold; Maddie Russ and Rachel Seering taking the silver; and Payton Wester and Elise Erdmann earning the bronze.
The goal of these lessons is to provide enough interest in the sport that kids will come and practice all summer long.
