Miller, Robert C.

Robert Charles Miller, 76, of Paola, KS, passed away July 17, 2012, at Wellsville Retirement Center, Wellsville, KS. Robert was born Nov 13, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI to Raymond and Alice (Wendel) Miller. He graduated from high school in Milwaukee and from the University of Madison. He served for two years in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Robert married Patricia Allen Young on October 15, 1976, in Oregon, IL. He worked for Swift in Rochelle, IL, and in 1981 transferred to ConAgra in KCKS. He was a supervisor for the processed meats division at ConAgra for 15 years, retiring in 1988. They have lived in Paola since 1987. Robert was a member of the Hillsdale Ruritans. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bob was a “cowboy at heart”. He will be dearly missed. Robert is survived by his wife Pat of the home; children James Miller, New London, WI, Christine Charlson, Madison, WI; step children Doug Young, New London, WI, Penny Gallegos, Neenah, WI, Alan Young, Lee’s Summit, MO, Greg Young and Pam Ruddy, both of Olathe, KS, Nick Young and Jill Walter, both of Independence, MO; four grandchildren; 14 step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and brother Allen Miller, Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Miller and step son Anthony “Tony” Young. Memorial Services were held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS, 913-592-2244. Inurnment will be at a later date.
