The Scandinavia Corn Roast Weekend will be held Friday through Sunday, Aug. 3-5 in Ellison Memorial Park.
The weekend begins with the annual Firefighter’s Dance on Friday night, with proceeds benefitting the Scandinavia Volunteer Fire Department.
Attendees can enjoy carnival rides, food and refreshments, entertainment, Saturday’s parade and a truck pull.
The Scandinavia Viking Baseball Club holds a softball tournament Friday and Saturday and hosts two B.A.B.A. baseball games on Sunday.
Sunday features an outdoor church service with music by Shepherd’s Quarter. Ball games, tractor pulls, the Corn Roast and Pie & Ice Cream Social are also slated for Sunday.
Sunday is the only day corn is served.
On Saturday and Sunday people can visit the historic Knoph Cabin and Jole Barbershop museums located on the grounds.
New in 2012 and all weekend long is the Scandinavia Corn Roast Chainsaw Artist Wood Sculpting Competition with prizes up to $2,000.

The Scandinavia Corn Roast also features entertainmnet by Richie Scholl, UB The Band, Iola-Scandinavia High School Band, Rokaholix, Johnny Wad, LIVEwire Polka Band, and The Swing Crew.
Since 1969, the Scandinavia Booster Club has presented the Scandinavia Corn Roast.
