County fair starts Aug. 22

The Waupaca County Fair kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 22 with Buck Day on the Midway and the tractor pull.

Aug. 23 is Veteran’s Day at the fair. Special passes for Veterans and active military, purchased thru the Veterans Service office prior to the fair are $3. Entertainment includes music in the grandstand pavilion and beer tent, Packer Party, and the Truck Pull,

Aug. 24 is Senior Citizen’s Day with $3 admission for those age 62 and older available until 3 p.m. The day’s activities feature Neil Zunker and the Music Connection, Mad Dog & Merril, the horse pull, and Rock & Roll Express.

Aug. 25 is the Clauson Family Music Show, pedal pull contest, chain saw carving auction, Nascar Party, and Catch a Pig Contest.

On Sunday, Aug. 26, fair activities include a church polka service, harness races, Mad Dog & Merrill, the Mel Albright Band and demolition derby.

Other county fair highlights include The Kidbucks Gameshow, chain saw artists, Friendly Farmers Barnyard Review, and Gary Wick and Friends.

Mega passes are available for $40 and include unlimited rides every day. Those who buy the Mega Pass through Aug. 21 have the option to purchase one season pass at a $5.00 discount.

General admission is $6, advanced season passes purchased prior to Aug. 23 are $18 and during the fair a season pass is $20. Children under 11 years of age are free. Parking is free.
