Dent, Donald K.

Donald K. Dent, age 85, New London passed away suddenly following a heart attack on Wednesday, July 26, 2012. Don was born on December 1, 1926, in New London son of the late Gerald and Marion (Baumgarden) Dent. On June 2, 1951, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Eggert in New London. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the New London Fish & Game Club. Don also enjoyed walking. He owned and operated Dent Radio and TV, then worked at Curwood transferring to RE&D until his retirement. In his retirement he worked at Festival Foods in New London. Don served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was an Old Glory Flight attendee in 2011. He is survived by his wife Phyllis; daughter, Sandi (Les) Korth, The Woodlands, Texas; son, Ron Dent, New London; a brother, Toby (Pam) Dent, New London; a sister, Judy (Gary) Heise, Manawa; and three grandchildren: Kasey, Brianne, and Devin. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Marvin, Duane, Gerald Jr., and Kenny. Funeral services for Don were held on Monday, July 30, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Visitation was held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial is in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Military Graveside Rites were held.
