Adoption Ambassador to speak at church

Sue Ollech will speak about Adoption Ambassadors at the 9:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Clintonville United Methodist Church.

In April, Ollech was among nine Adoption Ambassadors who visited the Philippines to spend time with 14 older children in need of families.

The Philippine program has placed over 20 older children in families since its inception in 2007. The Ambassadors blogged, shared photos and videos while they embarked on a trip of a lifetime. Upon returning to the United States, the Ambassadors advocate for the children, actively seeking out potential adoptive parents.

Lutheran Social Services’ work began in the early 1980s placing children from the Philippines. In 2007, LSS introduced the Adoption Ambassador Program. LSS works in partnership with the Inter-Country Adoption Board of the Philippines to place children between the ages of 7 and 15 years in stable, loving homes.

Ollech lives in Stevens Point and has grown her family through adoption. She has two boys, ages 15 and 13.
